Susan Condon nominated me to take part in the “777” challenge. Choose seven sentences from either page seven or page seventy-seven from a work-in-progress and post it here. So I’ve chosen seven sentences from page seven of my novel “The House of Thebes”. Enjoy!

She waited until she heard the front door close and his car pull out of the driveway before she went downstairs.

The kitchen, as ever, was immaculate. The cereal box had been put away and his bowl and cup were drying on the draining board. Every morning, as she surveyed the bastion of cleanliness, Adrienne was wracked with the desire to empty the contents of the cupboards out onto the floor. Of course, she never did. In Thebes, they could commit you for less.
