New Music Monday – Final vote for Xmas Song

Last week I asked for some song suggestions for a Xmas song to record for New Music Monday. I got a great response with some brilliant suggestions. What I want you to do is pick your ONE favourite and vote for it in the comments below (you don’t need the song title, just the number). So, without further ado, here’s the list:

Nice take on this one Derek. The snow’s falling down…….. : )

  15. John Ivory says:

Hi Derek, much as I’d love to hear you sing ‘Santa Baby’, I’m going to vote for No.22. I think that one would suit you very well.

  16. Rob Adams says:

I’d love to hear your acoustics and voice perform O Come Immanuel, but it ain’t on the list. So maybe The Christmas Song.

  17. Cliona says:

    Has to be No 8!

Well done on the Lana song. 🙂

  18. Marni Mann says:

    #9 🙂

  19. Love your version of Video Games, Derek. Christmas song has got to be one of my all time favourites, Fairytale of New York, with Kirsty McColl. Keep singing and writing!:)

  20. I’m going to vote for Blue Christmas.

And this one is pretty awesome. Sounds like it could have almost been an unreleased track from Nirvana’s unplugged session.

  21. Since Carol of the Bells is not up for consideration, I’m going with #3 🙂

  22. Jim McGrath says:

Actually my favorite Christmas song isn’t on your list, guess I missed that posting. It is “Dream Child” by Transiberian Orchestra. But if I was to choose one from your list, it would have to be #1, Greg Lake is truly amazing. And a minor 2nd vote would go to number 9, but more because of Luka Bloom, then because of the Pogues, if that makes any sense. I guess you would have to look at Luka’s album “Riverside” to get it.

Anyways, Cheers and “…they said, there’d be peace on earth, but instead it just kept on raining…”

    Jim McGrath

  23. Anne-Marie says:

Ok, I’ll try this again – no.14 for me too, of course!!
But I wouldn’t be averse to a little Tom Waits either should that happen to be the outcome. 🙂
