Can you say “Suave”?
Hell yeah…it’s New Music Monday! This week, it’s my version of Glen Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman”:
If you can’t play the song or are on an iPhone or Android phone, click here.
Wichita Lineman
I am a lineman for the county
And I drive the main road
Searchin’ in the sun for another overload
I hear you singin’ in the wire
I can hear you through the whine
And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line
I know I need a small vacation
But it don’t look like rain
And if it snows that stretch
Down South won’t ever stand the strain
And I need you more than want you
And I want you for all time
And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line
And I need you more than want you
And I want you for all time
And the Wichita Lineman is still on the line

A particular favorite of mine. Nice job.
I heard this first on an old country n western record my sister had and loved it immediately
Great version
What a lovely version Derek. It took me back to our home in the 70s in a heartbeat. Glen Campbell was a favourite of my late dad’s and I can still see the covers of his LPs in our sitting room. Thanks for singing and posting a great memory maker. J
